About Content Ratings

Games Create provides various Content Ratings which are used to rate the suitability of games to its audience. When creating and releasing a game built with the Games Create Engine an appropriate content rating must be selected from the following available content ratings.

Available Content Ratings

• All Ages (AA)

  Contains content that is suitable for all ages.
• Ages 10+ (A10+)

  Contains content that is suitable for ages 10 and older.
• Ages 13+ (A13+)

  Contains content that is suitable for ages 13 and older.
• Ages 15+ (A15+)

  Contains content that is suitable for ages 15 and older.
• Ages 18+ (A18+)

  Contains content that is suitable for ages 18 and older.

Content Descriptors

Content Descriptors offer more in-depth information on the types of content within a game. They are paired with Content Ratings to help viewers and players to make informed choices. When creating and releasing a game built with the Games Create Engine all relevant content descriptors must be selected from the following available content descriptors.

Available Content Descriptors

Alcohol

• Mild Alcohol

  Contains content which mildly references or depicts the consumption or use of alcoholic drinks.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Alcohol

  Contains content which references or depicts the consumption or use of alcoholic drinks.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A18+ or higher

Blood/Gore

• Animated Blood

  Contains content which includes depictions of unrealistic and/or discolored blood, such as cartoon blood.
  May be applied to any content rating
• Mild Blood

  Contains content which includes mild depictions of blood.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A10+ or higher
• Mild Blood/Gore

  Contains content which includes mild depictions of blood and/or the infliction of damage to body parts.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Blood

  Contains content which includes depictions of blood.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Blood/Gore

  Contains content which includes depictions of blood and/or the infliction of damage to body parts.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A15+ or higher

Drugs

• Mild Drugs

  Contains content which mildly references or depicts the consumption or use of drugs.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Drugs

  Contains content which references or depicts the consumption or use of drugs.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A18+ or higher

Simulated Gambling

• Simulated Gambling

  Contains content which includes simulated gambling, not including actual/unsimulated gambling.
  May be applied to any content rating

Humor

• Comic Humor

  Contains content which includes comical/slapstick humor.
  May be applied to any content rating
• Crude Humor

  Contains content which includes crude/vulgar humor.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A10+ or higher
• Mature Humor

  Contains content which includes humor only suitable for mature audiences.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A15+ or higher

Language

• Mild Language

  Contains content which includes mild profanity/obscene language.
  May be applied to any content rating
• Moderate Language

  Contains content which includes moderate profanity/obscene language.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Strong Language

  Contains content which includes strong (explicit and/or frequent) profanity/obscene language.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A15+ or higher

Nudity

• Partial Nudity

  Contains content which includes depictions of partial, mild nudity.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Nudity

  Contains content which includes depictions of nudity.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A15+ or higher

Simulated Sexual Content

• Simulated Sexual Content

  Contains content which includes depictions of simulated sexual behavior, not including actual/unsimulated sex.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A18+ or higher

Sexual Themes

• Mild Sexual Themes

  Contains content which mildly references sexuality and/or sex.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Sexual Themes

  Contains content which references sexuality and/or sex.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A15+ or higher

Smoking

• Mild Smoking

  Contains content which mildly references or depicts smoking, such as the smoking of tobacco products.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Smoking

  Contains content which references or depicts smoking, such as the smoking of tobacco products.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A18+ or higher

Suggestive Themes

• Suggestive Themes

  Contains content which includes mild provocative/suggestive themes, such as flirting or innuendo.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A10+ or higher

Violence

• Mild Fantasy/Cartoon Violence

  Contains content which includes mild fantasy and/or cartoon violence where characters remain unharmed.
  May be applied to any content rating
• Moderate Violence

  Contains content which includes moderate violence.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A13+ or higher
• Strong Violence

  Contains content which includes strong (explicit and/or frequent) depictions of violence.
  May only be applied to content with a content rating of A15+ or higher
